Introduction

The quality of social science research largely depends on the quality of the scientific tools and techniques used to collect the data required to interpret the phenomena under investigation. Among these tools, the questionnaire is one of the most widely used methods of data collection.

Designing an effective questionnaire requires careful attention to several methodological principles. Questions should be simple, clear, precise, and sufficiently comprehensive to address the dimensions of the research problem. They should also be logically organized, aligned with the objectives of the study, and appropriate for the characteristics of the target respondents.

At the same time, researchers should avoid a number of common problems that may negatively affect the reliability of the collected data and the willingness of respondents to participate. These include compound questions containing multiple ideas, leading questions that suggest a particular response, questions that may embarrass or provoke respondents, and unnecessarily lengthy questionnaires that require excessive time to complete.

Researchers are also encouraged to draw on previous studies, seek feedback from academic reviewers and experts, and use the findings of pilot studies to refine and validate the questionnaire before its final implementation.
